One of the things I really like about Kelowna is it is small city with a big heart! People here just seem to give no matter what the charity or cause is.
On November 4th more than 25 runners took part in a 100 kilometer (62 miles) relay from West Kelowna to Enderby.
This was the 8th Annual Great Big Run for Africa raising funds for
Partners In the Horn of Africa, they raised more than $20,000. The funds
will go to support women and families in Ethiopia allowing them to
start micro-businesses in their villages, which will create a
sustainable future for these families and the communities where they
live. The $20,000 is enough to support more than 200 women and their families to start their own micro-businesses, feed their families and change their lives forever.
